Election Turnout Low
Clerk Lisa
says she is disappointed with the low turnout in yesterday’s election. Overall
12,391 registered voters in the County cast their ballots, which worked out to
about 20 percent. She says it is expensive to put on an election and at least
offer voters a chance to exercise their right to vote. She says the turnout was
low across the state. The turnout was less than she expected in the County, but
closer to the 13 to 18 percent turnout state elections officials had predicted.
