Elections Important To Lautenschlager

Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg is one of the people who knew and came to respect former State Attorney General Peg Lautenschlager. Freiberg learned last week that Lautenschlager was losing her battle with cancer and it struck her hard. Freiberg says, “It hit me hard going back and thinking the memories and interesting conversations we held over the years as she served in her job duties. I respected her and I feel she respected me in my position.” Freiberg has been County Clerk for 10 years and Lautenschlager as a member of the County’s Democratic Party frequently had conversations over election issues with Freiberg. Freiberg also watched the State Ethics Commission meetings on TV when Lautenschlager was chairing that commission. Freiberg says, “She was a very intelligent woman and understood things. You could tell she was one of those people that read the agenda and knew what was on the agenda because she knew how she was going to respond sitting on that commission.” Freiberg says elections were important to Lautenschlager and those who knew her best say if you want to pay tribute to her get out and vote today.
