Emergency Kit For Your Car Recommended For Winter Weather

It is time to give some thought about how well prepared you are for winter driving. Last week was Winter Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin, which prepares people for the season. Bobbi Hicken is the Fond du Lac County Communications and Emergency Management Director. She asks whether you have considered an emergency kit in case you are out driving and get stuck in a storm. You should have blankets, water and some type of food source in case you have to wait until someone gets to you. It is recommended that you keep an adequate level of fuel in your car also in case you get stuck on the road or in a ditch. Other things to consider for those types of situations is having a fully charged phone battery, a shovel to dig yourself out, and a supply of kitty litter to provide traction for your tires.
