Emergency Sirens Accidentally Set Off

There was no emergency when sirens went off in areas of Fond du Lac County on Wednesday evening. Fond du Lac Police Chief Bill Lamb tells us the emergency management dispatch center has been undergoing some upgrades in the system.
Regular tests for fire department pagers are held at 5:45pm each Wednesday, but Lamb says it appears the radio signals for the pagers and emergency sirens were too close and ended up being crossed – causing the sirens to sound.
We will provide more information about the incident as it becomes available.
