Evers Critical Of Amount Of School Funding In Bill

Governor Tony Evers is not tipping his hand, as to what he plans to do with the Republican-authored state budget. But in Milwaukee Tuesday, the Democrat was again critical of the amount of school funding in the bill.

“Certainly I believe that the money that been set aside for schools is inadequate. It’s wrongheaded to assume that federal money that is used for COVID relief is going to be a solution for our schools.”

Republicans say the 128 million dollars in new funding for K-12 schools is enough, because Wisconsin schools are receiving more than two billion in federal aid related to the pandemic.–
