Evers Orders Flags to Half-Staff to Honor Department of Military Affairs Employee Killed on the Job

Governor Tony Evers has ordered flags around the state to fly
at half-staff as a mark of respect for an employee of the Wisconsin Department
of Military Affairs who lost his life earlier this week. Nicholas Janz was
killed on Monday while working at Volk Field in Camp Douglas. Reports say Janz,
a facility maintenance specialist, was replacing light bulbs on a runway when
the accident happened. The Governor said in a statement Thursday that Janz was “a diligent and dedicated Department of Military Affairs employee, but also a
devoted husband and father, loving son and brother and a loyal friend to many.”
Flags will remain at half-staff through sunset on Saturday.
