Evers Says In-Person Class Can Be Done Safely

He says he knows his teacher friends won’t like it, but Governor Tony Evers says CDC guidance is that they can safely return to in-person classes without first getting vaccinated against COVID-19.

 “It is not a prerequisite to have every teacher vaccinated. If it can be done, should it be done? Of course. But it’s not a mandate.” 

In response to Republican criticisms that some districts have not returned to in-person classes, Evers says that’s a local decision over which he has no authority.
