Evers Says Mask Mandate May Be Extended Past April 5

Wisconsin’s mask mandate expires April 5. Governor Tony Evers said Monday he hasn’t yet decided whether to extend it and will do so if a coronavirus threat remains.

“We’ll see. I’m waiting for the science on that. It’s a decision that we’ll be making at the last moment. If it looks like there’s reason for us to do it, we will do it.”

President Joe Biden has asked states that have lifted their mask mandates to reinstate them, amid rising coronavirus case counts and the the spread of new variants.
