Evers Upsets Walker in Race for Governor

State Superintendent Tony Evers
defeated Governor Scott Walker in Wisconsin‘s
gubernatorial race. A tight race all night – Evers pulled ahead in the
early Wednesday morning hours, pushed by the late addition of Milwaukee County votes.

Evers came away with a two-percent victory. Only 620 votes separated the candidates before the late surge put Evers up by more than 30,000 points.

Governor
Walker’s campaign claimed they would push for a “long, drawn-out”
recount, but with him falling by over one-percent, it’s currently unclear what
will happen in the coming days, as recount rules in
Wisconsin require the losing candidate to be
within one-percent of the winning candidate’s total votes.

Walker has yet to concede defeat to Evers.
