Evers Wants to Borrow $70 Million to Address Water Quality

(Wisconsin Radio Network)

Governor Tony Evers has promised to make clean water a
priority and will be making a push toward that in his upcoming budget proposal.
Evers will be requesting to borrow 70-million dollars to deal with groundwater
contamination in the budget proposal. Three-million of those dollars
would fund grants for Wisconsin farmers to build infrastructure to reduce water
pollution. Some of the money would be used to replace lead pipes. There would
also be grants for local governments trying to cut back on stormwater
runoff.
