Exclusive Company To Close All Stores

After 66 years of operation, Wisconsin’s oldest independent record store chain will be closing.

The news from the Exclusive Company comes about five months after the death of owner and founder James Giombetti, better known as “Mr. G.”

It’s announcement said “Mr. G was The Exclusive Company and The Exclusive Company was Mr. G.,” and one can’t go on without the other.

Giombetti first opened The Exclusive Company in 1956 in West Bend. That store has reopened under new ownership, with a new name.

The Janesville store closed in February. The remaining location in Green Bay, Appleton, Oshkosh, Milwaukee and Greenfield will participate in National Record Store Day, one last time April 23.
