Executive Assistant To MPTC President And District Board Receives Award

Moraine Park is pleased to announce Val Krueger, executive assistant to the district board and president for Moraine Park, has been chosen as the recipient of the 2015 Central Region Professional Board Staff Member Award on behalf of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT).

“When President Baerwald surprised me with the announcement that I had been selected as the recipient of the Professional Board Staff Award from the Central Region, I was amazed,” said Krueger. “I was humbled that our College president and Board chairperson took the time to submit a nomination on my behalf. It is gratifying to be receiving national recognition for the role that I have I played in supporting the College’s mission for the past 25 years. It’s a great way to top off my career at Moraine Park.”

Since 1990, Krueger of Green Lake has worked as the assistant to four presidents; oriented and supported nearly 40 district board members; and planned, implemented and attended more than 325 district board meetings, according to Vernon Jung, Jr., chairperson of Moraine Park Technical College Board of Trustees.

“Val is not just a top administrator, she drives technological innovation, efficiency, good governing practices and board policy development to help the Board and president best serve students and the community,” said Jung. “She is professional, energetic, creative and personable. She is approachable and has an engaging personality with a willingness to volunteer at college events including graduation, foundation events and other college life activities.”

In addition to winning the nomination, Krueger will be the sole nominee for the central region – one of five regions – to potentially be selected for the prestigious 2015 Professional Board Staff Member National Award to be announced on Friday, October 16, at ACCT’s leadership conference in San Diego.
