Fair Security

A lieutenant with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department says they have had fewer incidents to respond to at the County Fair over the years. Lieutenant Bill Tadych is one of the deputies who patrol the fairgrounds. He says a lot of great people come out to enjoy the fair. He says they do have a few scuffles, but over the years the number of serious incidents has gone down drastically. Tadych says the presence of Sheriff’s deputies on the fairgrounds tends to discourage bad behavior. He says during the concerts on the Grandstand they will usually have 8 or 9 deputies on hand and some park patrol. He says they also have a command post next to the fair office and there is also a first aid station in the Expo Building.
