Farmers to Families Food Box Pick-Up Being Held Wednesday at FDL Fairgrounds

A second food box pick-up event from the Farmers to Families program will be held in Fond du Lac on Wednesday.

People interested in getting a box filled with fresh produce, meat and dairy products can stop by the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds Wednesday (October 21st) from 10 AM until Noon, or until the boxes run out – whichever comes first.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has partnered with farmers, distributors and non-profits to ensure that everyone has access to the food they need during the ongoing COVID crisis. The boxes are free, with no income requirements and no pre-registration needed.

The first food box distribution was held last week at Community Church, and saw all boxes claimed within 15 to 20 minutes of start of the event.

Organizers of the distribution have placed a limit of two food boxes per vehicle for Wednesday’s event. People are also asked to not arrive before 9 AM to avoid traffic backups. If you plan to attend, you are asked to enter the fairgrounds from the 17th Street entrance off of Martin Avenue.
