Fatal Accident In Dodge County

Update:

Dodge County Sheriff’s officials have released the names of those involved in a fatal motorcycle versus SUV accident in the Town of Trenton Tuesday morning. Sixty-three-year-old Robert Sorensen of Ripon was killed after his bike hit the SUV that had merged into his lane on Highway 151. He was ejected from the bike and died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet. Sixty-four-year-old Wayne Kok of rural Randolph and his passenger in the SUV, a 62-year-old woman were not injured in the accident.

A 63-year-old Ripon man was killed when his motorcycle struck an SUV that entered his lane while merging onto Highway 151 in Dodge County. The accident in the Town of Trenton happened shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday morning when the SUV merged from the County Highway A on ramp. The SUV was attempting to change lanes to turn east onto Hemlock Road when it entered the same lane the motorcycle was in into the bike’s path. The southbound motorcycle struck the left, front quarter panel and tire of the SUV. The bike overturned in the paved median, struck a curb and entered the grassy median just south of Hemlock Road. The Ripon man was ejected from his bike and died at the scene. The 64-year-old man driving the SUV and his passenger a 62-year-old woman, both from rural Randolph, were not injured in the crash. The unsafe lane change and failure to wear head protection appear to be factors in this crash. Dodge County Sheriff’s photos.
