Fatal Accident In Washington County

Washington County Sheriff’s officials have released the name of the Hartford man killed in a single vehicle roll over accident on I-41 southbound in the Village of Richfield last Friday morning. Thirty-five-year-old Adam Long went off the road trying to avoid traffic that slowed for a construction-related lane closure. He was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle.

A 35-year-old Hartford man was killed when his SUV rolled over on I-41 southbound just south of County Highway FD/Pioneer Road in Washington County late Friday morning. Sheriff’s officials say other vehicles were slowing for a construction-related lane closure. The SUV approached other traffic to rapidly, swerved and the driver lost control of his vehicle. It went into the grassy area between I-41 southbound and the on ramp rolling several times. The driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the SUV. The accident in the Village of Richfield was the County’s tenth traffic fatality of the year.
