Fatal Accident on US 151 in Dodge County

A 43-year-old woman was killed when she was ejected from a pickup truck on Highway 151 near Gunn Road in Dodge County early this morning. Sheriff’s officials say a 27-year-old Iowa man was driving the pickup truck that was towing an enclosed trailer with a race car inside. He was approaching the semi from the rear when he attempted to swerve from the right lane to the left lane to avoid a collision with the semi and struck the left rear and left side of the semi-trailer. The woman, a passenger in the pickup truck, was ejected and died at the scene.  Neither the pickup truck driver nor the 29-year-old semi driver was injured in the accident. Assisting at the scene were Beaver Dam Police, Beaver Dam Fire Department and Paramedics, the Dodge County Emergency Response Team and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain. A 911 call reported the accident in the Town of Calamus at 2:17 a.m.
