FCEDC Annual Evening Top Awards

The Fond du Lac County Economic Development Corporation’s first Lifetime Achievement Award appropriately enough went to Fond du Lac County Executive Al Buechel (above accepting award). The presentation was made at Thursday evening’s FCEDC Annual meeting. FCEDC Chairman of the Board Ryan Kamphuis talked about Buechel’s impact and leadership on economic development in his 22 years as County Executive. He says, “Allen’s philosophy about economic development has always been ‘it is not a one and done deal, it is a continual and constant endeavor that should not be ignored.” The 2015 Annual Economic Development Achievement Award went to Louie A. Lange III of Commonwealth Development.  Kamphuis noted: “Louie is truly a visionary leader, especially as it relationship to the Fond du Lac Downtown and projects in Ripon.” He talked about the $28 million Commonwealth has invested in Downtown Fond du Lac and $9 million in investment made in Ripon. The 2016 Annual Evening is scheduled for January 28, 2016.
