FDA Approves 2nd Booster For Those 50+

The Food and Drug Administration has authorized use of Pfizer and Moderna Covid-19 vaccines, for adults 50 and older to get a second booster as early as four months after their first booster dose. Dr. Jeff Pothoff with UW Health says it make sense

“It’s possible that we may come down with COVID but it’s much less likely that we end up in the hospital we end up utilizing healthcare resources, and then pushing policymakers towards implementing mitigation strategies to preserve healthcare resources, those strategies like masking distancing, virtual school, which none of us like, but become necessary if we can’t contain the spread of the disease.”

Pothoff recommends people 50 and older go ahead and schedule a second booster as soon as possible.
