FDL American Legion Post Involved In Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

The American Legion Post in Fond du Lac is hoping to fill a truck with items that can be sent to Texas to help out victims of Hurricane Harvey. Squadron Commander Mike Kollmansberger says they will accept non-perishable food, personal hygiene, pillows, blankets, new socks and underwear, bottled water and more. It is their way of helping out fellow Americans in a time of need. He says it is a community service event that will allow people to feel good about helping others. There is also a need for volunteers to help with the collecting and sorting. Anyone who would like to volunteer can stop by the Post at 500 Fond du Lac Avenue in Fond du Lac or you can call Kollmansberger at 920-921-6455. A complete list of needed items can be found here at KFIZ.com. Mercury Marine has also gotten involved in the relief effort by donating boats and motors to the command center in Texas. You can read about that effort at KFIZ.com. as well.  (Pictured Mike Kollmansberger and Brian Stenz of the Fond du Lac American Legion Post with the semi trailer that is being filled with donations for Hurricane Harvey victims).
