FDL Area Foundation Director Resigns

After 20 years with the Fond du Lac Area Foundation, Joe Braun has announced his resignation.

Braun has served as the Executive Director for the past four years, in which he has led the organization through record growth.  His resignation is effective April 30th, but he will provide direction through the search and transition to a new director.

“It has been an honor to serve the Fond du Lac community for the last twenty years, and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished,” said Braun.  “The Foundation has been and will continue to be a vital community organization.  I will miss the team, the board, the donors, and nonprofit colleagues that make this community such a special place.  At the present time I have a great career opportunity which will allow me to spend more time with my family, and allow us to travel more, which at this point in my life I can’t pass up.  I feel that I have left the Foundation in a great position for the next leader to step in and take the organization to greater success.”

“We are grateful to Joe for his leadership and dedication to the Fond du Lac Area Foundation and thankful for his commitment over the past two decades,” said David Hornung, Incoming Board Chair.  The Board and staff wish Joe great success in his future endeavors.  The Board of Directors will conduct a search for the organization’s next Executive Director and Hornung will take over as interim Director in the meantime. The Board’s focus will be to ensure a smooth transition that will drive meaningful value and long-term success of the Fond du Lac Area Foundation.
