A $100,000 donation from the Fond du Lac Area Foundation is giving Agnesian HealthCare’s Hospice Home of Hope a significant boost as the Agnesian HealthCare Foundation works to solicit the remaining $625,000 in funds needed to cover the current project.

Sandi Roehrig, Fond du Lac Area Foundation executive director and Joseph Braun, Fond du Lac Area Foundation director of finance & development, presented a $100,000 donation to Holly Brenner, Agnesian HealthCare Foundation president.

“The Hospice Home of Hope is such a valuable asset to this community,” Roehrig says. “The services provided for those in the final stages of life are a godsend to both the patient and their families. The Fond du Lac Area Foundation Board of Directors recognizes both the value to the community and the need for expansion.”

Word of mouth about the care available has been so positive that the Hospice Home of Hope often has a waiting list. The addition of eight rooms should effectively address this waiting list as the need for hospice service continues to grow. The expansion is set to be completed in Summer 2017.

“We know that when a family is facing an end-of-life experience, the last thing they want to hear is that there is a waiting list,” says Brenner. “And, while that list is not extensive at any given time, we want to avoid turning anyone away from the Hospice Home of Hope, especially when time is so precious.”

The Hospice Home of Hope team and the patients and families the facility serves will enjoy the many benefits of the expanded space.

“Every day, our hospice team has the privilege of witnessing people and their families achieve new levels of intimacy, connection and peace,” Brenner says. “It’s inspiring to witness someone who, despite the most difficult circumstances, is able to transcend those experiences and reach a higher level of tranquility.”

The Fond du Lac Area Foundation is a community foundation that exists for the good of the community. The Foundation is a 501 ©3 organization with a purpose to build a permanent and lasting endowment to support the charitable needs of the community now and forever.

Since 1975, the Fond du Lac Area Foundation has partnered with generous individuals, families and businesses to strengthen our community through charitable giving. The Foundation is dedicated to helping people achieve their charitable dreams, no matter how big or small.

“Facing the death of a loved one is incredibly difficult and the Hospice Home of Hope has been there to provide support for many of us in that time of need,” notes Roehrig. “The Fond du Lac Area Foundation Board of Directors wanted to support the expansion of the Hospice Home of Hope, an entity that aligns with our mission to make our community a better place.”
