FDL-Area Groups Working Together to Address Domestic Violence

Three Fond du Lac County organizations recently signed a
Memorandum of Understanding in order to improve the way they work together to
address domestic violence in the community.

The Fond du Lac County Department of Social Services, the
Solutions Center and Agnesian Health Care/SSM Health Domestic Violence Services
announced they had signed the memorandum last month. Amy Bayer from SSM Health
Domestic Violence Services says the three organizations did this to better
serve the community. “We do work together quite a bit, and sometimes it’s just
better to be able to sit down and really understand what each agency can
provide – because we’re really looking to help out individuals affected by
violence,” she said.

Bayer explains that each of the three organizations are
currently training each other on the roles that each of them play in addressing
domestic violence in the community.

All three groups said in a news release late last month
that the memorandum “formalizes their commitment” to work together and “ensure
safety and promote well-being for children and families.”
