FDL Area Ranks in Top 20 of “Best Places to Work in Manufacturing” in U.S.

The Fond du Lac area was ranked in the top 20 of a recent
study looking at the best places in the United States to work in manufacturing.

The study conducted by the personal finance technology
company SmartAsset determined the best places for manufacturing jobs by
considering the percentage of the workforce that are employed by the industry,
job and income growth and how average incomes compare to median annual housing
costs in each metro area.

The Fond du Lac area ranks 19th in the study, and is joined
by the Appleton area (13^th) and Janesville/Beloit (15th) as
Wisconsin metro areas in the top 20.

Elkhart-Goshen, Indiana was ranked the top metro area in
the U.S. for working in manufacturing, with Greenville, North Carolina ranked
#2 and the Elizabethtown-Fort Knox, Kentucky area ranked third. Spartanburg,
South Carolina and Jonesboro, Arkansas round out the top five.
