FDL Area United Way Kicks Off Campaign

The Fond du Lac Area United Way kicked off their annual campaign Thursday morning with a breakfast at Marian University. During the event it was revealed that the campaign was starting with about 20 percent of their goal of raising $745,000 or $150,601. United Way Executive Director Tina Potter says their two pacesetters, Fives Giddings & Lewis and Brenner Tank are doing a great job. Also during the breakfast three of the agencies that benefit from United Way funding were highlighted showing people whose lives they have impacted. Potter says a woman originally from Somalia talked about how the Fond du Lac Literacy program has helped her. A video was also shown of Gold Medal-winning Special Olympian Tom (pictured) who is helped through the Arc of Fond du Lac. Potter says Tom’s mother talked in the video about that. The latest Habitat for Humanity family also spoke during the breakfast. Photo courtesy of Pat Friedel.
