FDL Area United Way & Women’s Fund Partner for Hygiene Products Drive This Week

The Fond du Lac Area Women’s Fund and the Fond du Lac Area United Way are partnering together for a Feminine Hygiene Products Drive this week.

People in the community are asked to make a donation of those feminine hygiene products in order to help out girls in the Fond du Lac School District who are struggling to access them.

Maria Turner is the Executive Director of the Women’s Fund – she tells KFIZ News that they are proud to partner with the United Way for this drive because having access to those important feminine products is something every girl and woman deserves access to.

“It absolutely aligns with the Women’s Fund’s foundational pillar related to economic self-sufficiency,” Turner said. “These girls are probably coming from homes where food, shelter, water – those basic needs – are where the majority of the family’s finances are going, but I think people forget that for women & girls, feminine hygiene products are a basic need.”

Donations are being accepted through this Friday, June 25th. See the flyer below for more information and for locations of donation boxes.
