FDL Boy Injured In Car Versus Bike Accident

Fond du Lac police say an 11-year-old Fond du Lac boy injured in a car versus bicycle accident should have waited for the car to pass before trying to cross West Scott Street Monday night. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says the boy was heading south on Van Dyne Road and should have yielded to the west bound car. When police arrived the boy was lying on his back in the roadway. He was bleeding from his head and nose and had other visible scrapes and cuts on his arms and legs. He was taken to St. Agnes Hospital. He was treated there and released. The 34-year-old Fond du Lac woman driving the car and her two passengers, a 31-year-old man and 5-year-old girl, weren’t injured. Klein says no citations were issued for the accident, which was reported at 6:37 p.m.
