FDL City Council Approves Increasing Money For DFP Grant Program

The Fond du Lac City Council last night gave City Manager Joe Moore permission to raise the amount of money the City gives the Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership for a business improvement grant program. DFP Executive Director Amy Hansen gave the Council a budget presentation. Following that City Manager Joe Moore made a suggestion they raise the $50,000 they were going to give to the DFP for the grant program to $75,000. He says the increase in funding could really make a difference in the appearance of downtown businesses. Council President Lee Ann Lorrigan believes it’s a good investment for the City. She says the City is making a commitment to Lakeside Park and the downtown is just as important. Eight applications were funded through the grant program last years with total investment in improvements valued at $500,000.
