FDL City Council Decides On Foster To Fill Vacancy On Council

The Fond du Lac City Council last night reached a unanimous consensus to appoint Brian Foster to the vacant seat on the Council. The Council will make that official during Wednesday night’s Council meeting. Foster and Brian Kolstad both were interviewed for a second time Monday night and while Council members felt Kolstad would be a good addition to the Council, Foster had the edge. Council President Sam Meyer says as warden of Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution Foster has worked with a budget similar to the City’s. Councilwoman Lee Ann Lorrigan says Foster is a good leader and she wanted him on the team. Meyer says Foster also has municipal government experience having served on a city council and as mayor of a small town in Iowa. Foster will be seated at the Council’s September 25th meeting filling the seat created by Rob Vande Zande’s resignation. The term of office for that seat runs until next April.
