FDL County Adds Nearly 170 Positive COVID-19 Tests In 2 Days

It’s starting to look like there are two groups of people in Fond du Lac County…those that have had COVID-19, and those that are going to get it. 95 new positive COVID-19 tests were confirmed on Thursday, giving the county 167 in the past two days, and pushing the county total confirmed case count to 2,331. Another fourty one active cases were confirmed, while there were another 54 more recovered cases. Hospitalizations continue to drop, now standing at 10, while the total negative test count is just shy of 24,000.

For a second straight day Thursday, Wisconsin has more than 20 deaths due to COVID-19. The state Department of Health Services reported 21 deaths, after reporting 27 the previous day. That was the highest single day for fatalities since May, and the second straight day the state saw more than 20 deaths. DHS also reported a record 2,881 new positive test results, as well as 109 new hospitalizations. The new numbers reflect what state public health officials are calling a crisis related to coronavirus in the state, with hospitals in some communities in northern and northeast Wisconsin nearing capacity.
