FDL County Assessing Storm Damage For Possible Disaster Funding

Wednesday’s thunderstorms caused more damage and dumped more rain on an already saturated Fond du Lac County. County Communications and Emergency Management Director Bobbi Hicken says like Monday’s storm high winds downed trees and damaged structures. But this time there was more localized flooding especially in the City of Fond du Lac. She says unfortunately there is not enough damage to qualify the County for federal disaster funding. She says there are things they are looking at to try and help municipalities on the state level to reimburse them for the expenses they incurred. She says they’ve already begun working with the municipalities to assess clean up costs for possible state funding. Monday’s storm was nine years to the day of the June 2008 flooding.
