FDL County Board Approves Amended Agreement For Alliance Expansion

The Fond du Lac County Board Thursday night amended a
three-party agreement that paves the way for Alliance Laundry Systems to do a
$58 million expansion of its facilities in Ripon. The agreement is between
Alliance, the County, and the Fond du Lac County Economic Development
Corporation. FCEDC President Steve Jenkins says the aggrement would be for a new
larger warehouse in the Ripon Industrial Park, conversion of a current warehouse
into a production facility, and upgrading their current corporate
headquarters.
Rob Wallace of Alliance says they really have gotten great
cooperation from the City, County, FCEDC, and the state is also working on
something for the project.
All 21 County supervisors present for the meeting voted in
favor of amending the previous agreement Alliance had for a performance-based $6
million loan. County Executive Al Buechel says the amended agreement changes the
incentives for the project, which could add 202 new jobs. He says Alliance will
receive more credits if they build the warehouse in the Ripon Industrial Park.
Through the new agreement Alliance
could get up to $1.5 million in payment credit incentives on the 2014 loan. The
County Board met for over an hour in closed session on the amended agreement
before returning to open session to approve it.
