FDL County Board Set To Approve Housing Unit For Sexually Violent Persons

The Fond du Lac County Board of Supervisors is set to meet Tuesday night, and included on the agenda is a resolution authorizing the purchase of a temporary housing unit for sexually violent persons.

The resolution, if approved, would also include waiving the requirements regarding public bidding due to an emergency.

Fond du Lac County Clerk, Lisa Freiberg, told KFIZ News the structure, if approved, would be placed on the County Highway Garage property, located on S. Hickory St., just south of Fond du Lac.

A number of residents that live in and around the property have reached out to KFIZ News and have voiced their concern regarding the plan.

The County Board is also being asked to approved an offer to purchase just over 54 acres of land on Scott Rd., in the Town of Fond du Lac, for the future construction of a jail and other public safety facilities. If approved, the land purchase would total just over $1.3 million.

The County Board is set to meet at 6 p.m.
