FDL County Board to Vote on 2020 County Budget Tonight

The Fond du Lac County Board will vote on the 2020 Fond du
Lac County Budget and five-year capital improvement plan at its meeting
tonight. The budget County Executive Allen Buechel presented to the board last
month is for $136 million, and includes and operating levy of $513-thousand
dollars. The 2020 spending plan also includes a $1.5-million-dollar levy
increase over the 2019 budget, from $44.4 million this year to $45.8 million
next year. Meanwhile, the tax rate would decrease by about six cents per
thousand dollars of value on a property to $5.87.

Also at tonight’s meeting, the board will hear an update on
the UW-Oshkosh, Fond du Lac Campus from UW-Oshkosh Chancellor Andy Leavitt and
Dr. Martin Rudd, the assistant chancellor for access campuses, and will
recognize three individuals – Jeffrey Belsma, Barb Haensgen and Sue McManus – for
their “dedicated service and contributions” to the county.

The board meets at 6 pm at the City/County Government
Center in Fond du Lac.
