FDL County Collects Nearly 2,000 Pounds of Medications During Drug Take Back Day

Drug Free Communities of Fond du Lac County reports that
local law enforcement agencies and Agnesian HealthCare collected nearly
two-thousand pounds of unneeded prescriptions and over the counter medications
during the Fall Drug Take Back collection on Saturday.

The 1,953 pounds of
drugs – added to the 2,171 pounds collected during the spring collection – puts
the yearly total over two tons of medication collected for disposal for the
third straight year.

There are twelve drug drop boxes throughout the county to
accommodate residents looking to dispose of the unwanted medications. The drop
box at the Fond du Lac Police Department was the first permanent drug drop box
in the state, and has collected over 24.5 million pills for disposal since
2008.
