FDL County Communication And Emergency Management Being Realigned

The Fond du Lac County Communications and Emergency Management Department will be going through realignment at the end of the year. It’s something the County Board approved last week. Department Director Bobbi Hicken introduced the idea, which she talked to the Finance and Public Safety Committees about. It means a few staff changes. Administrative staff positions will be realigned into dispatch positions. That will allow her to promote from within and have supervisors that can oversee dispatch 24/7. She says she can’t be in dispatch all the time and the realignment allows for better coverage and opportunities for training and trouble shooting. They are also short a couple of dispatcher positions, which they are trying to fill. She says they will fill those positions next year and provide the training.
