FDL County Doubles Confirmed COVID Cases In Just 30 Days, Now Over 7,700

It took Fond du Lac County 8 months to reach 3,600 confirmed cases of COVID-19. It took only 30 days to double that amount. With 92 additional positive cases reported on Friday, Fond du Lac County now has reported almost 7,800 confirmed cases. There were a dozen more active cases, another 79 cases listed as recovered. With almost 200 negative tests being processed, the county is just shy of 34,000 total. There was one additional death reported, which brings the county total to 36 since the start of the pandemic.  

The state Department of Health Services reports another 78 COVID-19 related deaths for Friday. That brings the statewide toll since the start of the pandemic to 2,954. DHS reported 6,473 new confirmed cases and 190 people newly hospitalized. The 3-day average number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 has doubled in the past month. More than 15,500 Wisconsinites have had to be hospitalized, up from just over 9500 a month ago.
