FDL County Finishes With Ten Fatal Traffic Accidents For 2014

For the better part of the first six months of 2014 Fond du Lac County had no fatal traffic accidents. Sheriff’s Captain Rick Olig says from June 16th to November 15th ten people died from injuries suffered in traffic accidents in the County and that’s the total the County finished with for the year. That total was one more than the nine the County experienced in 2013 and matches the 5 year average of ten from 2009 through 2013. He says four of the ten who died in accidents this past year weren’t wearing seat belts. Olig says the message about avoiding drinking and driving seems to be getting out. He says some toxicology tests are still pending, but it would appear none of those killed in traffic mishaps last year had been drinking. He says only one of the nine killed in 2013 had been drinking. He says it would be nice if the same message about using seat belts would get out there.
