FDL County Health Department, Agnesian/SSM Health Partnering to Help those with Coronavirus Concerns

Following the announcement of two confirmed cases of the
Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Fond du Lac County, the county Health Department and
Agnesian Health Care are working together to help those in the community that
are concerned about potential exposure and symptoms.

Starting Thursday (March 12th), concerned residents
can call 844-225-0147 between 7 am and 5 pm for more direction from Public
Health officials. A screening location is also established. People who have
been screened by the health department and determined to be in need of testing
will be directed to the testing site.

A news release says people who are concerned they might
have symptoms of the Coronavirus are asked to call the number before arriving
in-person at any health care facility, including urgent care or the emergency
room.

Officials say that “comprehensive plans and protocols” are
in place for caring for respiratory illnesses like this, and that “all efforts
are being given to ensuring that community needs are being bet and appropriate
steps are being made to limit exposure.”

Signs and symptoms of COVID-19 can appear two to 14 days
after exposure – and include fever, cough, difficulty breathing and shortness
of breath. Officials again urge people wash their hands, cover their cough and
stay home from work or school if they’re sick.
