FDL County Health Dept. Provides Update on COVID-19 Vaccine Timeline

The Fond du Lac County Health Department has released an update on the COVID-19 vaccination timeline.

According to health officials, rollout of the vaccine is currently in “Phase 1a” of the program, which includes frontline health care workers and staff and residents of long-term care facilities.

As the program progresses, “Phase 1b” may include people age 75 and older, and frontline essential workers who are not health care workers. A press release says this may include firefighters and police officers, corrections officers, education and child care workers, among others.

Phase 1c of the program may include people age 65 to 74, and those age 16 to 64 with high-risk medical conditions. This phase will also include essential workers not included in Phase 1b.

The release says Phase Two of the program may include other people not included in Phase One, along with other critical populations and the general public.

The Health Department is currently working with Agnesian/SSM Health to provide vaccines to healthcare workers in Phase 1a that are not affiliated with a healthcare system, hospital or long-term care facility, and earlier this week, local emergency medical responders started receiving the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

More information about the COVID-19 Vaccine is available at the Health Department’s website.
