FDL County Highway Department Plans for New Garage

The Fond du Lac County Highway Department is
looking to make some upgrades – and the biggest plan on the schedule is to
build a new highway garage. Commissioner Tom Janke says it’s about time they put
up a new structure to house their equipment. He says it was “originally built in 1929, so we’ve gotten a lot of service out of the bulk
of the building. And it’s a busy, talk about busy time – just that planning and
design phase is extremely busy.”

Janke says the design should be finished by
the end of August. He says they will then take bids to build the facility and
start construction in September. He hopes to move into the new building in late
2019 or early 2020.
