FDL County Looks To Secure New Software Contract

The Fond du Lac County
Board has approved a resolution giving County officials permission to negotiate
and enter into an agreement with Motorola for a new software package for use by
public safety.
County
Executive
Allen Buechel
tells KFIZ News the new software is a needed upgrade for the county.

“Our current software provider has decided they were no longer going to provide support for the software, which means if something happens, it’s our problem. They’re not going to give updates. So we had to do something, this is just way too important. We have to have something works, and works well.

The agreement with Motorola will
cover a computer-aided dispatch, records management, mobile and jail management
system. Buechel says the hope is to sign a contract by the end of this year,
and have the new software in place by sometime in 2021.
