FDL County Records Nearly 800 Negative COVID-19 Tests Since Friday

If you’re the Fond du Lac County Public Health Office, you may feel good that the negative test count topped almost 800 since Friday afternoon, bringing the county total 27,631. Or that there were close to 200 additional released cases since Friday, raising that number to 2,494. Hospitalizations have been holding steady as well, with an additional 2 people admitted as a result of the coronavirus, bringing total hospitalizations to 15. But all of those successes continue to get overshadowed by the fact there were 281 Positive COVID-19 tests confirmed since Friday as well, with 98 active cases. There was also one more death associated to COVID-19. The county death toll stands at 18 as of Tuesday afternoon.

With less than two weeks before Election Day, and the mask mandate being upheld in the courts, it will be interesting to see how the next couple weeks play out, and if the county sees numbers backtrack, due to proper social distancing and masking, or if another spike is coming our way.
