FDL County Reports 19 New Cases Of COVID-19, Negative Tests Top 10,200

Fond du Lac County reported 19 new cases of COVID-19 over the Holiday weekend, bringing the county total to 335. The complete list of numbers will be updated at 2 p.m. this afternoon.

For the second day in a row, there were no new deaths reported in the state due to COVID-19. A total of 4,996 tests were returned on Sunday, with 522 confirmed positive, or 10.4%. The percent positive hovered near 3% for most of the month of June, but that number has continued to climb, due to a high number of positive tests coming back in the 20-29 year old age group.

According to the DHS, 24% of the total confirmed cases now come from this age group. While those numbers increase, the number of people hospitalized due to the coronavirus continues to drop. As of Sunday, there were 244 people hospitalized with COVID-19, with 65 in ICU. There are now over 31,000 confirmed cases, with over 584,000 negative tests returned.
