FDL County Sheriff Thankful For Local Support Of Second K-9

Despite all the challenging things that happened in 2020, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has a lot to be thankful for when reflecting on the year that was. One of those things is the addition of a second K-9 unit to their staff, as police dog Ace joined the staff in August. Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt tells KFIZ News they’re very grateful for the community’s support in helping add the new K-9 to the force.

“That second canine was purchased, paid for, all of the training paid for, the new squad car and all of the equipment that we had to purchase…100% of that was community-funded. We received donations large and small from all kinds of people in the community and I can’t be more thankful for that.”

Ace joins K-9 dog Koda and his handler as police dogs working for the Sheriff’s Office.
