FDL County Sheriff’s Dept Looking For Hit-And-Run Driver

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department is looking for tips on a hit-and-run driver that sideswiped another vehicle trying to avoid striking a deer on Highway 151 near County Highway WH late last Friday night. Sheriff’s Captain Ryan Waldschmidt says a southbound vehicle had stopped after seeing the deer and the driver flashed his high beams trying to get the attention of a northbound driver who was coming up on the deer. He says, “The northbound car ended up making an evasive maneuver swerving into the shoulder and then lost control once they came back off the shoulder onto the road they lost control and spun out. They actually crossed the center line and sideswiped the vehicle that had seen the deer that had stopped.” The northbound car then took off. But Sheriff’s deputies were given a description of the hit-and-run driver’s vehicle. Waldschmidts says, “The suspect vehicle was an older car and they thought it was light-colored, possibly white and there will be damage to the driver’s side of the suspect vehicle. So that’s the vehicle we are looking for right now.” Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department.
