FDL County Sheriff’s Office Offering Boater Safety Class

For those of you looking to get out onto the water this summer – but don’t have a license – the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has your back. They will be holding a Boater Safety Course at the Emergency Government Center at 160 South Macy Street next month.
Anyone born in 1989 or after is required to complete a safety course to legally operate a boat on Wisconsin waters – and the DNR recommends the course for all boat operators. Students must attend all four nights of the course – which run 6:00-8:30PM on the evenings of June 18th, 20th, 25th, and 27thStudents are required to attend all four of the classes.
The class costs $10, and pre-registration is required.

To pre-register email or call Sergeant Paul Metzger at paul.metzger@fdlco.wi.gov or (920) 906-4664 ext. 0153.

All boater safety students will now be required to obtain a WI DNR Customer ID Number as part of the criteria to graduate from any Recreational Safety class and provide that WI DNR Customer ID Number to their instructor.

The Sheriff’s Office asks that obtain your WI DNR Customer ID# prior to the course dates and bring the ID # with you on the first night of class on Monday, June 18, 2018.
