FDL County Snow Plows Ready For Another Winter

The Fond du Lac County Highway Department’s small army of snow plows is ready for another winter season. County Highway Commissioner Tom Janke says they have two brand new trucks that are capable of doing more then their older trucks. The new trucks are also capable of hauling more liquid salt brine to treat the roads. They have about 34 trucks in the event of a major snowfall. Janke notes altogether they are responsible for plowing more than 600 miles of state, county and town roads. Each driver is responsible for treating or plowing about 20 miles of highway on their route.
