FDL County Tops 35,000 Negative COVID-19 Tests

It’s too early to tell if the Thanksgiving holiday weekend will result in spikes of COVID cases in the coming few weeks, but the Monday numbers were at least slightly encouraging in the county and the state. Fond du Lac County reported 333 positive tests, and while that sounds high, that also includes results since last Wednesday afternoon, November 25. Nearly 500 tests came back negative, with the county now over 35,000 negative tests since March. There was a drop of 278 active cases, bringing Fond du Lac County under the 1000 mark, while another 610 cases were classified as recovered.

Statewide, almost 9,000 tests were processed on Monday, with just over 2,500 listed as positive. 96 more people were hospitalized, with 1,845 in hospitals across the state, with nearly one out of 4 in ICU. Hospitals across the state continue to be concerned about space, with only 16% of available beds open as of Monday. 6 more deaths were also recorded, which brings the state total to 3,313. There was some good news as the state recovery rate climbed back over 81%, with over 315,000 people reported as recovered from the coronavirus.
