FDL Fire And Rescue Respond To Fire On West Scott

All 24 apartments in the Willow
Village Apartment complex in the 400 block of West Scott Street had to be
evacuated after a fire early Friday evening. Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue Captain
Larry Wunsch says a fire started in a trash bin next to a washer and dryer in
the basement that connects the buildings in the complex. Wunsch says two
residents actually threw water on the fire before firefighters arrived putting
the fire out, but the fire department had to ventilate smoke from the buildings.
No one was displaced by the fire and no one was injured. The cause of the fire
is under investigation.

West Scott Street was 7:07 p.m.

Fond du Lac firefighters responded to
their first fire of 2016 at about 7 p.m. Friday night. The fire was in a
basement at the Willow Village Apartments at 474 West Scott Street. It was
quickly put out and the building had to be ventilated, No one was
displaced and no injuries were reported.
